My very first stencil

I have been seeing some REALLY amazing work being done with stencils lately. I have been so very impressed with what I have seen at Mary Ann Moss and Michelle Ward's blog, that I had to give it a try myself. So, this is my very first attempt and I am sure I could easily get terribly absorbed in doing nothing but making stencils if Festival wasn't started in just a few short weeks. I can see how making stencils could be very addictive!

Flotsam - Page #13

This journal is just about done ... just a few pages left. I want to make my next journal and am thinking that I desperately want a binding machine of sorts, but am not too sure of what kind I want . Such a big price spread on them too. So hard to decide. And quite frankly I'm not that sure I will get that much use out of it. I did, however, learn of a local store that carries the new Zutter binder. Seems to be able to go through book board from what I have read. The retail is a reasonable $59, PLUS this store honors competitors coupons a few days a month. Just need to find a Michael's or JoAnn's 40% off coupon and I'm good to go! For that price I just have to get it and play around with it!

Crusade No. 10

Michelle Ward has posted an awesome challenge. I have decided that my sister, Tricia, shall be the recipient of this Mail Art.

Babies in my Ginkgo tree

I just love my prize Ginkgo tree. I have nursed this tree from a sapling and it is now about 12 feet tall and filling out beautifully. When we move I will insist that it be dug up and move with us. I have noticed a lot of activity in the tree recently and it turns out a Robin has decided to make her nest in this tree. I feel honored. The nest is about 6 feet up in the tree and I can see it quite well from the from the front room window. It's at the perfect height for viewing. There are 4 babies in the nest and I look forward to seeing them grow up. I have heard that Robins will continue to return to the same nest. I wonder if that is true. I will make sure this nest stays in tack just in case.

Flotsam - Pages # 10, # 11 and # 12

I am busy making fairies right now for the Michigan Renaissance Festival. I periodically need to take a break to get away from it, and I do that by doing a bit of work in my Flotsam journal. a little bit here and there do
quickly add up to quite a bit of work. This journal is slowly coming to an end and I am already giving thought to how I will construct the next one, Perhaps a shaped journal and something a bit more interactive. In the mean time I am back to making fairies. The Flotsam journal can be viewed here in it's entirety ... to this point anyways.
