Next week I'll be going out to Anaheim California to do a demonstration and Workshop for Faber-Castell at the CHA show. The demo will be for Artist Trading Cards and the workshop will be for these small Art Journals. The first 2 photos are of a small tunnel book.
I am enjoying them as they really are a challenge and are definitely make me work out of my normal comfort zone, which is a very good thing. I feel strongly that we should always push ourselves a bit further. These Journals are still very much in the beginning stages, but I wanted to share a few photos, more to follow soon!
This is lovely! I would have been nervous about doing something like this and then you turned me around with "pocket sized!" What a good idea!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done!
Thanks
**standing ovation**
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colours! Sounds like a fab workshop, and what a brand to represent!!! ... lots of yummy colours of pencils and pens :) Have a great time
ReplyDeleteGreetings Ingrid,
ReplyDeleteAs I am relatively new to your blog and still discovering so much that you have to offer, I am wondering if you sketch out your ideas and then refine these sketched before embarking on the real thing. Or even work out the design on the computer, as I do a number of my paintings.
Apart from that I feel you work is truly above most others, because I see that you have an excellent sense of deign, composition, merged with superior craftsmanship.
Thank you for sharing,
Egmont
I love these!
ReplyDeleteThese little journals are gorgeous, Ingrid! Your work is always so innovative; you're an inspiration. Hugs, Terri
ReplyDeleteI'm totally impressed and psyched for you. Way to GO!
ReplyDeleteWhen I first saw these books, I thought they were made of fabric.
I love this size! The tunnel book looks like great fun!
ReplyDeleteThis is my first visit to your blog. You are exceptionally talented! I can't wait to browse back through your older entries.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, colorful, fantastic. Your ART just gets better and better. Love the size of these gems too.
ReplyDeleteHi Ingrid! I once saw work from you "somewhere on the Internet" and when I wanted to go back to that later, I forgot where it was and didn't know your name.... I was very happy and surprised someone on the "A Year in the Life of an Art Journal" forum came up with your link - and it turned out it was the same art I was looking for!!! You're work is amazing!!! (btw - are you Dutch? Your name sounds Dutch...)
ReplyDeleteThese are great! And your letters are neato. good stuff.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors you are using... and the dots!

Just this minute discovered your blog and I love it. I'm about to make a tunnel book (if I don't lose my nerve) and have been looking at tunnels on the web - and so I found your wonderful blog and even more wonderful books. Very exciting. I'll be back to read every word. Thanks for the inspiration.
