Winter White Journal

Awe yes, busy as a Bunny. I have been working hard and things are beginning to fall into place. Right now I am focusing on getting together up coming class proposals and I have to admit, I am pretty happy how it's all coming together. Fortunately, I seem to work well under pressure and with short deadlines.
This little gem of a Journal is one in the series of the "Ambrosia Journals". Same basic concept as the others really, just a variation. This book is 4 1/2" X 6 1/2" and 1 1/2" thick, a very stout little Journal, indeed! (Photos enlarge to show detail)
It's one thing to come up with an idea that will work for a class room situation, but it's another to be able to locate materials at a reasonable cost. Often I come up with the idea with the materials I have on hand only to find they are no longer available or the cost would be prohibitive for a Workshop. I lucked out with this one. I have on hand enough of this 1/8th inch thick heavy boxboard to make about 300 of the books. Once I run out I'm afraid that'll be it, I don't think I'll be able to get it for that price again. Of course, in the mean time, storing that much cardboard is another story, I think I'll keep it next to the 400 book covers I recently acquired ... but we just won't talk about that.

gorgeous. it all blends together so beautifully, especially those lovely threads of gold beads hanging from the spine.
