An Instructional Guide for Going Over the Edge

This is the first spread done in this Journal Notebook. The beginnings of the book are pictured below in the previous post... this book on the right. As I am planning on teaching workshops in the near future, I am making journals to house all the samples. This book will focus on page edge treatments and shaped pages.

Oh my...the pages are beautiful and I am totally in love with buttons you've gone "over the edge" with. Great stuff!!! I'm just in awe...totally in awe.

Your new journal is awesome! I am making an altered book where I do all the edges differently. I will probably get some great idea from you! I hope you will share all your pages of this journal!!

Ingrid I read the entry on this page spread and I think you are perfectly normally OCD LOL
I have the absolute same problem. Although mine appears to be more along the lines of having to entirely immerse myself with whatever medium I happen to fall into, to the point of missing deadlines and such on other equally important projects. And I know it just has to run its course until I've exhausted myself with it for a time. If I try to fight it I end up blocked and unhappy with my art. So obsess away!

Ingrid, I have been looking at your pages again because i have started a journal based on yours (I hope you don't mind) I love the different shaped pages, and I hope I can do half as good a job as you do! You are an inspiration to me and many others! I have just been saving all the cardboard boxes that come my way (cereal, crackers, etc) and I am cutting them to size. I love going "over the edge" too, and that will also be part of my journal as well. I love the remark you made about it being the "process" that excites you so much. I am a Montessori teacher, and we are all about the "process"! Do you treat your pages when you are done? They look shiny and i was wondering if they were shiny for a reason. I will put my new journal on my blog too at some point in the near future. I would love to hear your comments! Have a wonderful New Year!!
