Mini Journals

Next week I'll be going out to Anaheim California to do a demonstration and Workshop for Faber-Castell at the CHA show. The demo will be for Artist Trading Cards and the workshop will be for these small Art Journals. The first 2 photos are of a small tunnel book.
The 2 photos below are of the other journal. Each of these small journals are 4 1/2" X 5 1/2". I say these are small, because as compared to the sizes I normally work in they are indeed miniature. I am enjoying them as they really are a challenge and are definitely make me work out of my normal comfort zone, which is a very good thing. I feel strongly that we should always push ourselves a bit further. These Journals are still very much in the beginning stages, but I wanted to share a few photos, more to follow soon!

This is lovely! I would have been nervous about doing something like this and then you turned me around with "pocket sized!" What a good idea!
Beautifully done!
Thanks

Greetings Ingrid,

As I am relatively new to your blog and still discovering so much that you have to offer, I am wondering if you sketch out your ideas and then refine these sketched before embarking on the real thing. Or even work out the design on the computer, as I do a number of my paintings.

Apart from that I feel you work is truly above most others, because I see that you have an excellent sense of deign, composition, merged with superior craftsmanship.

Thank you for sharing,
Egmont

I'm totally impressed and psyched for you. Way to GO!

When I first saw these books, I thought they were made of fabric.

Hi Ingrid! I once saw work from you "somewhere on the Internet" and when I wanted to go back to that later, I forgot where it was and didn't know your name.... I was very happy and surprised someone on the "A Year in the Life of an Art Journal" forum came up with your link - and it turned out it was the same art I was looking for!!! You're work is amazing!!! (btw - are you Dutch? Your name sounds Dutch...)

Just this minute discovered your blog and I love it. I'm about to make a tunnel book (if I don't lose my nerve) and have been looking at tunnels on the web - and so I found your wonderful blog and even more wonderful books. Very exciting. I'll be back to read every word. Thanks for the inspiration.
