Renaissance Arch Journal revisited

This is one of those many projects that I started and never finished. I don't remember why, perhaps it wasn't going quite as planned, something else came up or I just plainly lost interest. I have more of these type projects laying around than I care to admit to.

I do recall that the inspiration for this journal was a piece of wine colored acetate that I somehow acquired. This became the insert for a window (on the front cover) that I cut out of wood, routered the edges and added cross bars (made of bamboo skewers). On the front and back cover I had already punched holes for a Zutter wire binding when I was originally working on it. I had also started a few pages, but that's about as far as it got. This journal is 5" wide X 11" tall.

I love them - and I love the possibilities! I hope taking another look at these inspires you to do some more with them!

Nice that you are getting back into your renaissance arch journal. I know this will bring lots of us joy as we watch over time to see how this one develops.

You are not alone in having projects you have shelved. It just means something else caught your eye. Now I'm glad you are revisiting this journal.

Wow, guess it has been a couple of weeks since I stopped by. You've been busy!!

My UFO pile never seems to get smaller. Glad that you're making a dent in yours. The arch journal is just lovely. Am loving the Ambrosia journals too. Great colors.

I just love those portraits you use for this project. Where did you find them?

We have a public library here that has a room full of old books for sale. These images came out of an old Art History book printed in black and white. I bought the book there for $1. It's my favorite place to shop.

Thanks so much for posting these images- they are beautiful! Did looking at them again inspire you to pick them up again?

Hi Ingrid!

Yet another stunningly, unique creation from that wonderful head of yours. And I'm enjoying the idea of the wood cover, must be lovely to hold.

Of course I hope you find the inspiration to complete it. Listen carefully, it may have something to say... it will speak to you when it's time.
