Ingrid - I always enjoy your journal pages and this one was fun to actually read. I learned more about you, and it got me thinking as well.....where to be buried. I have thought of it from time to time....since there really isn't a clear answer for me.

Thanks for sharing with the Street Team!

What wonderful journal pages. Lovely to look at and fascinating to read. I undertand all too well the questions that run through your head after the death of a beloved parent. Be kind to yourself at this hard time. The 'where to be buried' thing is interesting. Here in New Zealand we're going through this awful patch where people's bodies ar being "snatched" from funeral homes or people's own homes and buried where - some - of the family choose, against the wishes of others. I know how bizarre that sounds, but it's to do with cross-cultural marriages where wishes have not been made clear. It's just so sad and awful.

Fabulous journal page Ingrid, it is hard to make the decision of where to bury someone ... as Cath said, be kind to yourself.

Oh... I am sooo glad you joined the Crusade. Your journal page is very touching. I can relate to it. Where in the world do we finally want to rest? And your artworks is really cool. If didn't join the Crusade, I never would've seen it. Thank you so much for sharing.

I have been to Netherlands many years ago, and it is a very beautiful country. I get very nervous when I am in some part of that country where it is under sea level. But a beautiful country, nevertheless. And I know where I want to be buried - I bought and owned a plot next to my father's grave. :-) And did you use the file folder for your journal pages? Love the dots around the edges! Thanks for sharing! &rew

Great journal pages, real eye candy. A great Aunt recently passed away, and we did what I called a scavanger hunt to find all of her favorite places to scatter her ashes per her wishes. I would think if your Dad wanted to be in Holland, he would have told you...you did the right thing!

Hello Ingrid, what a beautiful way to do your journal, very creative.
I am thinking that your dad is still in touch with your thinking for some reason and having read Michelle's blog about the gathering of soil around famous people's last resting place, it came to me that perhaps you can gather some of the same soil at your fathers grave, place it in an envelope and send it to a relative or a friend in Holland, have them burry it in a beautiful garden or near by his birth place. I hope it does not sound intrusive to you, it hit me as a good idea. I did not go to my father's funeral in Mexico but asked my brother to bring to me a rock from the place and I treasure it like it was a part of his last earthy home, it is very unusual because it is volcanic material, it looks like an egg. I hope your holliday is lovely, I will come back to read more about you, I love those baby faces, let me know if you ever want to do a trade. Bright Blessings .

I am Dutch too and moved to the UK almost 3 years ago. These thoughts of where I would be buried have crossed my mind, too. Would I like to go where my family is, or where my Love is? It's such a difficult question!
