Cat got your tongue?

These are some of the lyrics to one of my favorites songs "Everyday is exactly the same" by Nine Inch Nails. It's on my i-pod and I listen to it most everyday while walking. I thought it time to incorporate it into a journal page.
This is my contribution to the GPP Crusade # 30 which has been done in a book for a Round Robin that I am participating in. There are multiple layers of text on these pages, although they do not show up well on the scans. The pages were first covered with hand written text that has several thin layers of a color wash to somewhat obscure the lettering. A subtle stamping of an Italian love poem in red is used and then my normal lettering is done on top of that and each letter outlined. Finally a "secret" message is written on a separate piece of paper, folded and then sewn to the page. I almost always use writing in my journal spreads, scroll down further to see other pages or see the galleries in my website WWW.IngridDijkers.com

I love the layers of text! It adds intrigue and untold stories and complexity! I listen to my son's mp3 player when I walk and I have wanted to journal some of the words from songs I listen too! But I only remember while I am walking and I can't keep stopping and writing them down, then when I get back I forget!!!!!

Ingrid - so many of your pages are filled with that ingrid-style writing we adore, I hope the visiting crusaders will take the opportunity to scroll through your previous posts to see that you are not afraid of *journaling* LOVE that you have a secret message on this piece. Thanks for playing this month and sharing your art with the team.

i have always liked your handwriting (though i think it is very time consuming to frame each single letter...).

Your use of words with images is, as always, fabulous. I aspire to be half as talented! Thanks for the inspiration.
