This evening my husband and I were out and about. We drove by a dirt road that curved up, around and out of sight. We have driven by this road thousands of times and never thought a thing about it. This evening we both said at the same time "I wonder what's up there".
So, we drove up and around the bend only to discover a rather large unkempt circular meadow with a gravel drive all the way around. On one side a train track and scattered about many large rocks with lots of simple cairns built on top. Our curiosity somewhat satisfied, we agreed that it was a rather haunting and somewhat creepy place.

There are so many roads not taken; good for you for following the road and making a sweet discovery.
Isn't it fun coming upon a place like this? The cairns are wonderful -- I have one in my rock garden (and the squirrels keep knocking it over).
Interesting!
I find it delightful to come upon your post about cairns after coming across some on vacation. I am intrigued that the place was creepy. I wander if people from the train stopped there or or hopped on there... where the energy was coming from? Either way, you explored it and now have a memory of it. Thanks for sharing!
